Safety Manager/Assistant Director of Operations - Gregory N. Reeves

Reeves’ interest in aviation was kindled at an early age by his grandfather’s stories of his time as a Naval aircraft engine mechanic, working on Vought F-4U Corsair fighters on the aircraft carriers USS Hornet and USS Wasp. His interest was kept by flights provided through the EAA Young Eagles program and the Boy Scouts of America’s Aviation Merit badge. His fate in aviation was sealed at his home airport, Nixon Memorial, when he was able to fly a restored Boeing Stearman on an aerobatic flight at an EAA fly-in breakfast. He graduated in 2007 from Western Michigan University’s Aviation Science program, leaving school with a Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Science and a commercial pilot’s license and instrument rating. Following graduation, he interned with the AOPA Air Safety Foundation in Maryland, working on safety education programs for GA pilots and interacting with many of AOPA’s more than 400,000 members. He joined Barr Air Patrol in 2008 as their safety manager and has worked to develop the company’s Safety Management System and tactical safety programs while learning the art of pipeline patrol and interacting with Barr’s valued customers.
