Pipeline Patrol Observer and Camera System Operator Needed in West Georgia, US. Based airport to be determined based on operational needs and crew location. Pilots or aspiring pilots preferred, but pilots license not required. Must be comfortable flying in small aircraft in variable weather conditions at low altitude.
Duties will include assisting the captain with pre-flight, in-flight, patrol, and post-flight duties in addition to performing safety-specific tasks during the flight. Patrol duties will include operating camera system and software in flight, contacting the customer via telephone to communicate sightings, taking notes of sightings during the patrol, and performing aircraft tasks as delegated by the captain. Basic computer skills required and preferred to perform the job.
Aircraft are based across the United States and include Cessna 172, 182, 185, T206, P-68 and PA-31 aircraft. Pipeline patrols are performed as a crew, flying at 500′ AGL in complex airspace in a variety of weather conditions.
Schedule is approximately 3-4 days per week with additional ground duties. Schedule and flights vary and are conducted when weather and maintenance conditions allow. Occasional weekend and holiday flights may be required due to customer emergencies or weather conditions. Flight time in airplane is approximately 15-25 hours per week, dependent on schedule. Most flights are made during weekdays during day VFR conditions. Overnight stays in hotels required. (company paid hotels and meal expenses)
The successful candidate will be flexible and professional, willing to participate actively in the Crew Resource Management and safety aspects of the job. Local candidates highly preferred, no relocation assistance is provided. Great way to build experience for new pilots.
